bits and pieces #27
I’ve been pretty quiet here lately. It’s been one of those periods of transition and change for me that hasn’t been conducive to photography or writing. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been keeping up on what others are doing though, and I think one of the great strengths of blogging is being able to pass along great work being done by others. In particular, two powerful posts in the last few days have really brought me to my knees.
Guy Tal posted a piece a few days ago, a thoughtful and thought-provoking post about his own personal journey and the direction his photography (and life) is taking. You can read it here.
Earlier today Greg Russell posted a piece about recent travels with his father, and about aging and about the clarity and creativity that can come with the aging process. To be honest, I’m still waiting for that clarity… but I found it to be a very moving and thoughtful post. It’s right here.
My thanks to Guy and Greg for these posts… they touched on many of the things I’ve been pondering lately and I found them to be most valuable. I won’t presume to speak for either of them… I’ll just say I consider both to be must-reads and suggest you go and read them for yourselves. Then read them again.
